Uni y peces / Uni and fish / Uni und Fische

Hoy ha sido el "primer día de clase". En realidad no hemos tenido clase, hoy sólo era la presentación. El decano nos dió una charla, y después nos dieron vino, bebidas y canapés para comer. En el máster somos 15 Personas: 14 chicas y un chico (¡¡¡pobre chaval!!!).
Por la tarde, Robert y yo hemos ido a la playa de Las Teresitas con Diana y Ramón, dos compis de clase (¡sí, se pueden hacer amigos tan rápidamente cuando no conoces a nadie más!). Hoy me llevé las aletas, el snorkel y las gafas de bucear. ¡¡¡Aquí hay unos peces alucinantes!!! De todos los tamaños y de todos los colores. Ha estado genial. /
Today was my first "Schoolday". We didn't have any classes, actually. It was just the presentation. The Dean held a speech, and afterwards we were given some wine, soft drinks and something to eat. We are 15 people in the Masters: 14 girls and one boy (poor chap!!!).
In the afternoon Roberto and me went to Las Teresitas beach with Diana and Ramón, two of my classmates (yes, it is possible to make friends this fast when you don't know anybody else in town!) Today I had my flippers, snorkel and goggles. There are some amazing fish here!!! Every size and every colour. It was really great. /
Heute war der erste "Schultag". Wir hatten noch keinen Unterricht, heute war nur die Vorstellung. Der Dekan hat eine Rede gehalten, und danach haben wir Wein, Getränke und eine Kleinigkeit zum Essen bekommen. Wir sind 15 Personen im Master: 14 Mädchen und 1 Junge (der arme Kerl!!!)
Am Nachmittag waren Roberto und ich mit Diana und Ramón, zwei Klassenkammeraden (ja, so schnell kann man Freundschaft knüpfen wenn man sonst Niemanden kennt!) am Las Teresitas Strand. Dieses mal hatte ich Flossen, Snorkel und Tauchbrille dabei. Mensch, sind hier tolle Fische zu sehen!!! Fische in allen Grössen und allen Farben. Es war wirklich toll.

PUERTO DE LA CRUZ

Hoy hemos estado en Puerto de la Cruz, la segunda ciudad más grande de la Isla. Es una ciudad muy turística, pero aún así muy bonita. La ciudad está junto al mar y desde aquí se puede ver la cumbre del Teide. / Today we visited Puerto de la Cruz, the second largest city on the island. It is a very touristic place, but very nice, nevertheless. The city is right next to the sea, and from here you can see the top of the Teide. / Heute waren wir in Puerto de la Cruz, die zweitgrösste Stadt der Insel. Es ist eine sehr touristische Stadt, aber trotztdem sehr sehr schön. Die Stadt liegt direkt am Meer, und von hier aus kann man auch die Spitze vom Teide sehen.

Hoy hemos ido a otra fiesta chilena, esta vez en el norte de la isla. Fue un poco aburrida, pero la actuación del grupo folklórico fue muy bonita. / Today we went to another chilean party, this time in the north of the island. It was a bit boring, but it was very nice when the folkloric group performed. / Heute waren wir wieder auf einer chilenischen Party, dieses mal im Norden der Insel. Es war ein bisschen langweilig, aber der Auftritt der Folklorischen Gruppe war sehr schön.

El jueves por fin llegaron nuestras cosas. / Our stuff arrived on thursday, at last. / Am Donnerstag kamen endlich unsere Sachen an.

Cucarachas/Cockroaches/Kakerlaken

Por fin puedo contaros algo negativo sobre Santa Cruz: las cucarachas. Anoche apenas dormimos, ya que tuvimos que ir de cacería de cucharachas. Tuvimos 2 en el patio, una en el dormitorio y una en la cocina. Pero hemos echado veneno en cantidades generosas, y parece que ya no hay ninguna. Pero fue una experiencia horrible. / Finally I can tell you something negative about Santa Cruz: cockroaches. Last night we could hardly sleep, because we had to go on a cockroach-hunt. We had two in the yard, one in the bedroom and one in the kitchen. But we sprayed poison everywhere and apparently there are no more left. But it was a terrible experience. / Endlich kann ich euch etwas negatives über Santa Cruz erzählen: Kakerlaken. Letzte Nacht haben wir kaum geschlafen denn wir waren auf Kakerlaken-Jagd. Wir hatten 2 im Hof, eine im Schlafzimmer und eine in der Küche. Aber wir haben ordentlich Gift gesprüht und anscheinend sind jetzt alle weg. Aber es war eine schreckliche Erfahrung.

Lunes y Martes / Monday and Tuesday / Montag und Dienstag

El Lunes y el Martes por la mañana fueron un poco estresantes: estuvimos en la Uni para preguntar algunas cosas y estuvimos buscando trabajo para Roberto. Pero por la tarde estuvo muy bien, fuimos a la playa de Las Teresitas. Es una playa muy bonita a 10 Km de Santa Cruz. El agua está clarita y lisa como un espejo, y se puede nadar de maravilla. / On Monday and Tuesday morning it was a bit stressy: we went to the University to ask for some Information and we went to look for jobs for Roberto. But in the afternoon it was really nice, we took the bus to Las Teresitas beach, which is a beautiful beach 10 km from Santa Cruz. The water is clear and flat like a mirror and you can swim really well. / Montag und Dienstag Morgen war es etwas stressig: wir waren in der Uni um uns über einige Dinge zu informieren, und wir waren auf Arbeitssuche für Roberto. Aber am Nachmittag war es schön. Da sind wir zum Las Teresitas Strand gefahren. Das ist ein sehr schöner Strand 10 Km entfernt von Santa Cruz. Das Wasser ist klar und flach wie ein Spiegel und man kann super gut schwimmen.

El Domingo por la tarde estuvimos en el Parque Marítimo César Manrique. Fue muy relajante. / On Sunday afternoon we were at the César Manrique Park. It was very relaxing. / Sonntag Nachmittag waren wir im César Manrique Park. Das war einfach entspannend.

Domingo por la mañana / Sunday morning / Sonntag morgen

El Domingo por la mañana estuvimos en el Mercado. Fue una fiesta de colores y olores: Carne, pescado, preciosas plantas y flores, pan, verduras y frutas tropicales. / Sunday morning we went to the Market. It was a celebration of colours and smells: meat, fish, beautiful plants and flowers, bread, vegetables and tropical fruits. / Sonntag Morgen waren wir auf dem Markt. Das war eine Feier von Farben und Gerüchen: Fleisch, Fisch, wunderschöne Pflanzen und Blumen, Brot, Gemüse und T ropische Früchte.

Sabado/Saturday/Samstag

El Sábado pasado estuvimos en el sur de la isla, en una fiesta chilena (se celebraba el 18 de Septiembre, día de la independencia. Cuando llegamos allí, aún no había nadie, así que primero fuimos a la playa de Las Galletas. La fiesta fue muy divertida. Hubo comida chilena, vino chileno, ¡y muchos Chilenos! / On Saturday we went to the south of the Island, to a Chilean party (to celebrate the 18. Of September, Independence Day). When we arrived, nobody was there yet, so we first went to the beach of Las Galletas (translated: The Cookies).The party was good fun. There was Chilean food, Chilean wine, and lots of Chileans! / Letzten Samstag waren wir im Süden der Insel auf einer chilenischen Fete (der 18. September, d.h., der Unabhängigkeits Tag wurde gefeiert). Als wir dort ankamen war noch kein Mensch da, also sind wir erst zum Strand von Las Galletas (übersetzt: Die Kekse) gegangen. Auf der Fete war ganz lustig. Es gab chilenisches Essen, chilenischen Wein, und viele Chilenen!

Hoy nos hemos comprado un carrito para llevar las compras!
Y hemos comido unas arepas riquisimas y bebido un zumo de Papaya-Kiwi.

Today we bought a trolley four our shopping! And we ate some delicious Arepas, and drank a Papaya-Kiwi juice.

Heute haben wir ein Einkaufswägele gekauft! Und wir haben köstliche Arepas gegessen, und Papaya-Kiwi saft getrunken.

PRIMERAS IMPRESIONES/FIRST IMPRESSIONS/ERSTE EINDRÜCKE

Santa Cruz es una ciudad viva, de gente sencilla. En cada esquina hay zumerías y pequeños locales de comida, siempre hay gente por la calle, y siempre están dispuestos a ayudar. Me recuerda a alguna ciudad de Latinoamérica.

Santa Cruz is a city full of life, of common people. In each corner there are "zumerías" (bars where they sell tropical juices), and places that sell food, there are always people on the streets, and they are always willing to help. It reminds me of some city in Latinamerica

Santa Cruz ist eine Stadt voller Leben, voller einfacher Leute. An jeder Ecke findet man "zumerías" (bars wo tropische Fruchtsäfte verkauft werden), und kleine Restaurants, auf den Strassen sind immer Leute, und sie sind immer hilfsbereit. Erinnert mich an irgend eine Stadt in Lateinamerika.
